'Brown' Megalodon tooth (US) - 8.7 cm (3,43 inch)
This impressive Megalodon tooth measuring 8.7 CM (3,43 inch) was found in the USA, Florida - in 2019. The fossil tooth is from a giant Megalodon shark (Otodus Megalodon) that could grow to a length of 20 metres and weigh 60,000 kilograms.
This Megalodon tooth shows a small chip in the side, but due to the sharp serrations, it is only a small thing. The tooth also has a beautiful, bright black/grey colour. The groove in the top of the tooth is still clearly visible, through which the nutrients and minerals came. This tooth comes from a very large Megalodon shark and - after millions of years - still has sharp jagged edges and points.

The meaning of "Megalodon
'Megalodon' has a short but very clear meaning: 'Big Teeth'. The oldest teeth ever found date back 20 million years. The largest Megalodon tooth ever found was no less than 19 centimetres in size. Because no complete fossilised bones have been found apart from the teeth, this species was given the name 'Megalodon', which also means: 'Big Teeth'.
The teeth of Megalodon are practically the only fossils found of this magnificent species, and those teeth speak volumes.
